At JHB Christian Academy, we honored Mandela Day by dedicating 67 minutes to community service, reflecting Nelson Mandela’s legacy of kindness and selflessness. The entire school participated in a cleanup at the Turffontein Old Age Home, showing our commitment to giving back and fostering compassion among students and staff.
67 Minutes of Service at Turffontein Old Age Home
Our Mandela Day initiative was about more than just spending time; it was about making a meaningful impact. By cleaning the Turffontein Old Age Home, our students and staff contributed to improving the lives of the elderly residents, while learning the value of community service.
Teaching the Value of Service
Through this activity, JHB Christian Academy emphasized the importance of giving back. Students experienced first-hand how small acts of kindness can create positive change and were reminded of their responsibility to serve others, just as Mandela did
